October 19th & 20th 2002, Waikato River
Bridge-to-Bridge Thundercat Style
The need for speed was the order of the day - all
the B/S was peeled away to show the more time you put into practice
the better the results. 16
entries gave a good showing at the event, all the best props on
display.
The speed freaks over the two days were Paul and
Cam coming first by mere seconds not minutes ahead of Matt and Kev
followed by Richard and Craig.
In true Thundercat style Dave and Marcelle stopped to make
sure Greg and Corinne were OK after a spectacular flip - who says
these boats can't fly? up up and away!
The two Wayne’s flipped at the same place only
meters away from daddy Powell’s house on the river so help was
close at hand. The moral of the story if you know enough people on
the river you don’t need to take a tool kit with, you just need a
cell phone to ask what time tea will be ready.

I found a name for my boat (PORPUSS) -
Justin and I spent more time out of the water than on
it bouncing from start to finish, the one good thing is Judi said
its done wonders for our sex life! Saturday night saw us
having a great barbeque at Matt & Kev's place with Aquarius
inflatables supplying drinks and snarlers. Us old people had
to go to bed early so can't comment on the rest of the night.
The strong and
faithful gave several displays for the crowd and Murray the
commentator gave us plenty of mileage - thanks Murray. Did anyone
get confirmation of doing more than a 100km per hour - the top five
boats must have been a few k’s over? Let me know please.

Anyone got a set of wing mirrors for Derek?
No truth in the rumor he's got one glass eye and yes I should have
known better than try to overtake him on the inside - we went so far
into the trees Justin found a possum in his helmet.
Well guys and girl’s thanks for a great weekend
of fun and friendship with a club to be proud of. All the
best.
