Pauanui Beach 16th October 2005
Pauanui 16th October
From one extreme to the other, after our first race at Orewa with terrible weather we arrived at Pauanui to only 1 meter swell and sun shine – quite the opposite but an enjoyable day for most crews.
With 8 boats taking to the water for 7 races each they all had a long day.
Takapuna Panel beaters had picked a great calm day to take to the water for there first race day and did remarkably well (there must have been some practice before hand I bet)
Yet again poor Marine Works Racing had troubles and where forced to pull out from the final races – I’m sure they will be talking to there mechanic on Monday!
Congratulations to the new crew from the ‘Dickies’ boat, in only their 2nd ever race meeting, managed to pull off 2 x 1st places and finished 4th overall for the day. You old boys better watch these guys……..
We hope that every one got home safely and no one had more flat tires – should we all say that New Zealand roads are shocking as one poor team member found having 2 flat tyres thanks to a rather large pot hole on the way down.
A great days racing that would not be able to happen with out all the help and support from marshals. Alan and Judy your help is greatly appreciated by all.
Placings for the day 1 Cow 2 Jungle Coffee/ Plumbquick 4 Dickies 5 Hydraulink 6 Quicken 7 Takapuna Panelbeaters 8 Marine Works
Look forward to our next event at Murawai on the 13th November.
Next General meeting 17th November – Venue to be advised.
