After a long drive for most people
towing 17 boats we all arrived safely to
Wild Wet Windy Wellington only to get up on Saturday morning to
extreme
weather conditions which where not raceable so after a quick meeting
we
where forced to call the day off.
3 boats still wanted to brave the weather and went for a short play
in 120km
winds and huge swells that Lyall bay had on offer.
Top marks to the Marine Works boat for staying in the water the
longest and
also to Hyduralink and Aranro Juice for getting out there also -
personally
I think you are all mad.
With no racing we took all the boats to the local marina as they
kindly
offered to help us get all the motors out of the extreme sand
blasting that
they had been through over the past 24 hours, then off to lunch and
dinner
as a group which soon ended in a great night out for a lot of the
crews.
Top marks to Jodi I think you had a great weekend - what was the
doctors
name?
A huge thank you to Tony V and the Wellington city council for the
time in
organizing such a great weekend. Hope you all had a good trip home
and we
all look forward to the Cook Straight crossing next year and being
invited
back to Wellington.
Ps Thanks for the money left under the door, I hate to think who
went to a
place that has strange note's like that!
