Driver info : Simon Harding
Simon spent 3 years riding race horses for the Sheik Mohammed in Newmarket before injury put a stop to his career. Ever positive, Simon took to the water to help aid his recovery and soon found a love for speed and crashing through the waves doing such sports as surf kayaking, coasteering, climbing, mountain bike and jet skiing. He now works for SVITZER towage as a coxswain and spends his spare time as a water sports instructor and racing powerboats. 2014 was a very successful season for Simon, he achieved overall 4th in the team standing for the RYA National Championships and he continued his success into the 2015 season where he was placed 7th in the driver championship.
Co-driver info : kurt croft
Kurt joined Simon for the 2015 season. Kurt's love of ardenlin sports, especially ThunderCat Racing saw him placed 7th in the co-driver championship.
In 2014 Rylan Edwards had a very successful first season co-driving with Team 51. Has been a lover of the sea ever since he could walk. Rylan has worked in sailing ocean going tankers for the last few years but has decided to come back home for a more settled life. This was short lived when Simon convinced him to join him as co-pilot. Pretty hooked on racing now and enjoy spend my spare time climbing , wakeboarding and any outdoor sports. Unfortunately Rylan had work commitments which has seen him taking a sabbatical from racing this year, Look forward to welcoming you back Rylan in the future.
Team Manager: Simon Harding
Simon Harding, when he is not maintaining the team boat he is always trying to keep the team transport looking tip top.
With 5 seasons behind him Simon is now no stranger to the National and International Thunder tours. Success has been hard fought for, but Simon has prevailed and was runner up in the 2012 RYA UK Championships, 4th in 2014 and 6th in 2015 with a much increased contingency of teams all fighting for championship points. Simon raced for Great Britain in the 2012 World Championships in Norway and at the World Championships in Malta during October 15 where the team achieved a fabulous 5th place in the Pro-Stock class.

Simon: when training at home, I got hit in the head by a puffin (we were going flat out) not sure who was more shocked him or me!
