Atlantic Freestyle Football kicks off in Great Style at Fistral Beach
We are really delighted to have the 2017 Atlantic Freestyle Football Tour accompany us throughout the ThunderCat racing season, providing great entertainment and spectacle on shore for the visiting general public. Scores of freestyler footballer from across the world descended on Fistral Beach to coincide with the first two rounds of our championship, to take part in the first event in the inaugural Atlantic Freestyle Football Open.
Hundreds of spectators took in the excitement against the stunning backdrop of the competing ThunderCat powerboat Racing UK, who thrashed their high-speed power boats along the shoreline.
Onshore Dutchman Jesse Marlet wowed the prestigious judging panel and took the Open and Sick 3 titles, with Irishman Conor Reynolds earning the Challenge spoils, both displaying an incredible range of skills and talent.
Organiser Jason Heaton said: "I would like to give a massive thank you to everyone that made this possible. The NewquayVoice, DJ Angel for her seven hours set on the day which is just incredible and absolutely made it happen. ThunderCat Racing UK for the opportunity to go along with them, their help to get on the national tour and for an incredible exchange of community. C6(n) for the stage which is unparalleled and one that everyone loves. It really did inspire everyone.
The next tour event takes place in conjunction with the 3rd and 4th leg of the ThunderCat racing Championship in Bournemouth, on the weekend of May 20. The event will incorporate the British and Irish Championships.
